Vol. II of the MIFDB returns this September. We kick off the autumn programme with the Arxipèlag creative call, which this year is dedicated to filmmaker Barbara Hammer, a pioneer of lesbian and experimental cinema. From October, the touring programme Conegudes i reconegudes travels to different towns across our region with the latest works by Catalan women directors, decentralising film screenings. In the same month, within the Cineastes Llatinoamericanes programme, we focus on current Brazilian work with three films exploring the experience of being a teenager or young person in Brazil. In early November, together with the team at the Filmoteca de Catalunya, we present the new MIFDB Documentation Centre, located on its premises. Meanwhile, the Manifestos Fílmics Feministes XII series this year offers three screenings and a workshop that question the idea of beauty and propose processes of estrangement from one's own body, alongside the exhibition El culte a la bellesa. This autumn brings together a whole new range of filmmakers whose work reflects on the legacy of feminist struggles of previous decades, chewing them over a second time and reworking cinematic codes through them.…
