A Woman Under the Influence portrays the mismatch between life expectations and the social roles that structure family life. Mabel Longhetti, a housewife and mother of three, tries to hold her family life together with her husband Nick, a Los Angeles construction worker, while her increasingly erratic behaviour unsettles the emotional and social balance around her.
