Activity Programme 'Drassanes Reials: pedres que expliquen Barcelona'

As part of Barcelona's designation as World Capital of Architecture 2026 by UNESCO-UIA, Museu Marítim de Barcelona has developed a programme of activities that throughout the year will allow the public to explore and discover in depth one of the city's most significant architectural complexes: Drassanes Reials de Barcelona. Museu Marítim de Barcelona therefore aims to bring the history of this emblematic architectural complex closer to the public and establish it as one of the urban symbols explaining the city's relationship with the sea. Activities include lectures by specialists, guided visits and family activities so that the public can discover every detail of Drassanes Reials. The annual programme will begin on 14 March with the show-installation Maña by the Manolo Alcántara company. The Drassanes originated in the 13th century and have evolved to the present day, undergoing architectural transformation according to the uses they have had to accommodate over eight centuries of history. They therefore bear important witness to the long and intense relationship Catalonia and Barcelona have had with the Mediterranean from the Middle Ages to the present.
