"The book of sand [museum]" proposes a performative route intervening in the MHC's permanent exhibition from the perspective of the “foreign” body: a liminal, migratory body in transit and never fully rooted. What for some belongs to the realm of history —preserved, classified and displayed in museum cases— for others constitutes a present reality: tragic, ironic, fragmented, broken and undefined. Playing with the temporal dimensions of past, present and possible futures, the performance establishes a dialogue with the collection, exploring fissures and distances between global and personal memory, belonging and otherness. Through an alternative route across spaces of fictionalised memory, the piece invites the audience to reconsider not only what existed and what remains, but also what might have been and what could still come to exist. Between archive, fiction and testimony, the performance activates new ways of inhabiting the museum, transforming it into a meeting space between times, cultures, bodies and memories in constant motion.
