"André Ricard. Disseny en ús" Exhibition
29 October 2026 – 14 March 2027
Museu del Disseny de Barcelona
"André Ricard. Disseny en ús" focuses on one of the most important and pioneering figures in contemporary design, an undisputed benchmark and a key voice in promoting and championing home-grown design. The exhibition celebrates a career shaped by the desire to make an impact on everyday life through objects designed to be used, understood as tools serving people and society. The exhibition offers a twofold reading that allows Ricard's work to be approached on different levels. On the one hand, it presents a selection of iconic objects, conceived as timeless pieces, placed in everyday contexts that highlight their functionality, formal clarity and continued relevance. On the other, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the principles and values that have guided his professional practice, as well as his work as a theorist, communicator and promoter of Catalan and Spanish design, a role that is often less visible but essential to understanding his legacy.
