'Anna Moreno. The Third Twist' Exhibition

The exhibition is organised around The Terminal Beach, the final part of a trilogy reflecting on temporality through utopian architecture and the potential of speculative imagination, using three projects by Ricardo Bofill and three stories by James Graham Ballard. The Terminal Beach is a collaboration with Bernardo Zanotta and has received support from Amarte Fonds, Mondriaan Fonds, VEGAP, Hangar and Ricardo Bofill Taller d'Arquitectura. In The Third Twist, the artist documents, in road-movie format, the current state of a nomadic settlement built by Bofill in the Algerian Sahara in 1979, commissioned by then-president Houari Boumédienne. The construction belongs to the architect's utopian period, when his studio (RBTA) was an amalgam of architects, poets and painters, among others. What was intended as a complex built according to modernist criteria ultimately became an unfinished project revealing the tension between the dream of that era and the reality of modern colonial legacies.
