10 November 2026 · 18:00
Disseny Hub Barcelona, el Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, Sant Martí
The ninth and final session of the 'Dissenys d'arquitectes' series, co-organised by the Fundació Història del Disseny and DHub, offers first a historical look at the design work of Antoni Gaudí and then a look, both historical and contemporary, at the design works of the Domènech dynasty, from Lluís Domènech i Montaner to Lluís Domènech Girbau. In the first part, Mònica Piera, historian and president of the Associació per a l'Estudi del Moble, will discuss Antoni Gaudí's career as a designer of furniture conceived for exceptional spaces and circumstances, aiming both to understand tradition and to invent a personal language. In the second part, the architect Lluís Domènech Girbau and the art historian and Universitat de Barcelona professor Mireia Freixa will discuss the contributions of the different generations of the Domènech family to design and to the preservation of their legacy.
Part of the programme: 'Disseny d'arquitectes. Mirades històriques i contemporànies des de Barcelona' Series. See the 2 activities in this programme in Barcelona, from October 6 to November 10. All free.
