24 September 2026 – 8 December 2026 · 09:30

Museu Diocesà de Barcelona, el Barri Gòtic, Ciutat Vella

The exhibition presents to the public an important group of works from the Vatican Museums' Collection of Modern and Contemporary Art. For this occasion, a selection has been made of some of the most representative paintings and sculptures of this period, created by internationally renowned masters such as Mirko Basaldella, Felice Carena, Carlo Carrà, Pericle Fazzini, Salvatore Fiume, Gerardo Dottori, Renato Guttuso, Marino Marini, Giacomo Manzù, Francesco Messina and Fausto Pirandello, as well as other lesser-known but highly significant artists such as Aldo Carpi, Giuseppe Montanari and Antonio Giuseppe Santagata. The central theme of the exhibition is Christ, the Man of Sorrows and the Paschal Mystery: Passion, Death and Resurrection, approached through diverse languages and sensibilities that reveal, in the face of Christ, the greatness of the human vocation.
