Artist Fernando Prats's intervention in the Romanesque-art galleries consists of a group of works that establish subtle parallels between apparently distant periods. With gravity or the beating of birds' wings as accomplices, the artist traces records of universal movement. Embracing this complexity, he weaves a network of landscapes that evoke the experience of the passage of time and the rhythms of nature, making visible the geometries hidden in Romanesque art. Contemplating these traces reveals a timeless connection in their themes despite the conceptual differences between periods. In this project, curated by Glòria Moure, Fernando Prats establishes a line through the Romanesque-art galleries, an itinerary interwoven with alternative landscapes that joins the different parts of the exhibition into a whole. Along this route, the artist explores the concept of representation with nature as artistic subject through works of pictorial recording that develop the notion of landscape, as well as creations outside time that defend painting as a layered, deep and skilful sedimentation of the contradictions inherent in human experience.
