"Arxiu Icarià. Poblenou (1987-1992)" Exhibition

Curators: Factoria Heliogràfica Opening: 30 October, 7 pm The Arxiu Icarià brings together the work of photographer Martí Llorens (Barcelona, 1962) between 1987 and 1992, during the transformation of the former industrial area of Avinguda d'Icària and the construction of Barcelona's Vila Olímpica for the 1992 Olympic Games. The archive, kept by the cultural association Factoría Heliográfica, consists of creative and documentary photographs, as well as documents, plans and objects recovered during the demolition work, and other material produced during the construction phase. The exhibition offers a new reading of this collection, centred on the disappearance of a territory and the construction of a new model of city.
