'Avinguda Gaudí, una memòria viva entre la Sagrada Família i l'Hospital de Sant Pau' Exhibition

7 July 2026 – 15 November 2026 · 09:00

Sant Pau Recinte Modernista, el Guinardó, Horta-Guinardó

An exhibition highlighting the Sagrada Família and the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau. The axis formed by Avinguda Gaudí is much more than an urban connection between two masterpieces of Modernisme. At the southern end, the Sagrada Família, designed by Antoni Gaudí, stands as a universal spiritual and creative symbol. Gaudí made the neighbourhood part of his work: he used local residents as models for sculptures on the Nativity façade and built schools for workers' children and children from the neighbourhood, showing a profound connection with the community. At the northern end, Hospital de Sant Pau, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, represents the highest expression of Modernisme applied to public health. A hospital-garden complex where light, colour and architectural beauty form part of the healing process. A living heritage site that has been the setting for life, death and hope for generations of Barcelona residents. With free admission, the exhibition can be visited at the entrance to the Recinte Modernista.

Part of the programme: Gaudí Year. Any Gaudí: 7 activities in Barcelona, from April 16 to September 30.
