'Basic Games Programmed with the Micro:bit' Children's Workshop

7 November 2026 · 11:00

Centre Cívic Guinardó, el Guinardó, Horta-Guinardó

Led by Janka Trojcakova, an educator specialising in active methodologies, project-based learning and STEAM education, with experience designing and delivering workshops on digital fabrication, art, creativity and technology for children, young people and families. In this workshop we will learn to programme simple games using the Micro:bit as an interactive platform. We will create digital versions of classic games such as rock, paper, scissors, catch the ball and guess the number while discovering essential block-based programming concepts, including variables, conditions and sensors. Participants will experiment with the Micro:bit's LED matrix, buttons and accelerometer to bring their games to life and make them more fun and interactive. It is an ideal activity for an introduction to computational logic in a practical, quick and motivating way. Recommended for children aged 8 and over, without adults.
