"Belén Bandera - Carla Motis Quartet" Concert

Singer Belén Bandera and guitarist Carla Motis return to the festival with a jazz proposal they themselves describe as “distinctive and full of sensitivity, in an exceptional quartet format for this unique occasion at the Barcelona Jazz Festival”. They are joined, in an intergenerational dialogue that offers a vivid portrait of jazz in Catalonia, by double bassist Horacio Fumero and drummer David Xirgu, two undisputed reference points in Catalan jazz. Their sound, they explain, “starts from a repertoire rooted in the most traditional jazz and reinvents it from a young, fresh and energetic perspective”.
