'Blues Combo: From Rhythm'n'Blues to Soul' Workshop

Teacher: Aram Montagut We will explore in depth the evolution of blues into rhythm'n'blues and soul, focusing on the structures, groove and distinctive language of each style. We will analyse artists and key figures such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Sam Cooke and Etta James. The workshop will combine listening, analysis and ensemble practice (combo). An intermediate level of music is required. Participants must bring their instrument.
