Les Veus de la República is a debate space on issues related to the organisation of public affairs (res publica). Speakers and citizens discuss politics, sociology, communication, history, economics and more from both theoretical and practical, lived perspectives. The great challenge of the 21st century is to restore degraded ecosystems in order to tackle climate change, preserve biodiversity and strengthen territorial resilience. In this session we will reflect on the key role of cities in this transformation through the case of Viladecans, a model of green and healthy urban planning recognised with the 2025 Green Leaf award for its commitment to renaturalising urban space and placing people's health at the centre. Participants: Gisela Loran, biologist, director of Envers and vice-dean of the Col·legi de Biòlegs de Catalunya. Jordi Mazón, PhD in Physics, UPC lecturer and currently deputy mayor of Viladecans. Moderator: Cristina Junyent.
Part of the programme: 'Les veus de la República' Series. Cicle 'Les veus de la República: 2 activities in Barcelona, from October 21 to November 11. All free.
