'Catalan Literature in Postmodernity' Cultural Workshop *NEW*

Teacher: Gala Porté. Catalan literature underwent a series of changes from the late 1960s onwards that coincided with the broader shifts of postmodernity. The Catalan literary system therefore entered a period of total transformation in the final third of the 20th century: on the one hand, it had to adapt to the cultural changes of the time; on the other, the end of Francoism and the recovery of public uses of Catalan brought a new expansion of Catalan literature. We will explore what these changes were and how they shaped the evolution of literature in Catalan, paying attention to the most important works and authors of the past seventy years.
