cobla SANT JORDI-CIUTAT DE BARCELONA Some sardanes have survived the passing of time. Today we present ten of the one hundred and nineteen that, according to the sardanista.cat register, were premiered in 1926. Some are performed more than others, but all are firmly present in our memory. Works by Toldrà, Martínez Valls, Bou, Antoni Català, Morera, Amadeu Vives, Joaquim Serra, Enric Casals, Antoni Juncà, Josep Saderra and Josep Vicens. A whole era in which compositional styles overlapped one another, showing the musical diversity of the sardanes being written at the time: romantic, impressionist, epic, innovative, Noucentista, for the town square… Miquel Massana conducts the concert, presented by the musicologist Albert Fontelles.
