'Ceramics from Scratch' Workshop

Led by Luciana Gutiérrez. @ceramicalajuana. A quarterly beginner ceramics workshop focused on learning basic modelling and decoration techniques. Throughout the course we will work with hand-building techniques such as pinching, slab building and coiling, applying them to the creation of functional pieces. Each participant will develop their own objects (such as cups, bowls or plates), exploring forms and uses based on their interests. The pieces will be decorated with coloured slips and finished with transparent glossy glaze, introducing the essential processes of ceramic finishing. The workshop is designed as a space for learning and experimentation where, in addition to acquiring technical tools, personal expression is encouraged. The methodology combines demonstrations, guided practice and individual support, allowing each student to progress at their own pace while developing their own pieces. No previous experience is required.
