'Chamber Music: Reading as a Starting Point' Lecture
30 November 2026 · 18:00
CaixaForum Barcelona, la Font de la Guatlla, Sants-Montjuïc
The influence of literature on music is not limited to the large orchestra or the Romantic piano. Chamber music, too, found a very powerful source of inspiration in poems, stories and literary images. Through the work of Brahms and Conrado del Campo, this session reveals how the intimacy of the quartet or the trio can evoke atmospheres, emotions and narratives that suggest much more than words can express. Given by Irene de Juan Bernabeu, musicologist, pianist and music communicator.
Part of the programme: 'Poetes de la música' Series. See the 4 activities in this programme in Barcelona, from November 2 to 30.
