Christmas Concert by the Cobla Sant Jordi – Ciutat de Barcelona and the Cobla del Conservatori MMB
14 December 2026 · 19:00
Teatre, el Poblenou, Sant Martí
It is now thirteen years since Amics dels Concerts de l'Agrupació Cultural Folklòrica Barcelona reached an agreement with the teaching management of the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona to include its student cobla in the concerts this section had been organising since 1954. The main aim was to encourage students of cobla instruments by having them take part in a concert outside their usual setting, alongside professional musicians and under conductors from outside the Conservatory. The idea was to give them the chance to discover other repertoires, get used to working under the pressure of performing in front of an audience and share the experience with other musicians and conductors. Given the importance this activity has had in the Conservatory students' curriculum and the positive assessment of their teachers and tutors, when the Cicle de Cobla a Barcelona was set up it was decided to continue their participation, sharing the spotlight with the Cobla Sant Jordi in the Christmas Concert. The concert will be presented by Imma Pujol, from Manlleu.
