The opening concert of the Retrat d'Artista devoted in 2026 to the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, celebrating its first 20 years, brings together an all-star octet to emerge from the Barcelona ensemble around two towering figures in 20th-century music history, Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong. Directed by Joan Chamorro, the band features two very special guests, Edu Ferrer and Ricard Gili, founder and leader of the unforgettable Locomotora Negra. Two very different crooners who will bring back the extraordinary magic of two icons. Exquisite swing and subtle elegance return in an evening featuring a repertoire full of arrangements created especially for the occasion, the starting point for another Retrat d'Artista in our festival that promises plenty of emotion.
