This programme brings together diverse sonic identities united by the pulse of rhythm and cultural memory. Skalkottas's Five Greek Dances distil folk spirit into a modern, tense language; the premiere of Albert Guinovart's work for oboe and chamber orchestra opens a space of contemporary and introspective lyricism; and Piazzolla's The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires, in Desyatnikov's arrangement, closes the journey with urban, vibrant and timeless passion.
