Mercat Sant Antoni, Sant Antoni, Eixample
An architecture workshop for 600 children aged 6 to 12 who, with the help of more than 100 architecture professionals, will collectively build a large model of the city. A meeting point bringing together all the experiences of the Construint a la Sala 2026 programme. The big 10 Districts · 10 Cities workshop, held at the Mercat de Sant Antoni, is the culminating meeting point of the educational programme. Children from every district of the city take part in a day of collective creation. Based on the ten city elements worked on throughout the year, the participants build a large joint model that brings together all the reflections and ideas that emerged in the school and family workshops. Each group contributes a piece, a fragment or a vision, creating a diverse, complex and shared city. The workshop focuses on collaborative work, participation and dialogue between different ages and backgrounds, reinforcing the idea that the city is a collective project. The Mercat de Sant Antoni thus becomes a space for the symbolic construction of the Barcelona of the future, seen and imagined by children.
