Teacher: Emma Antelo. Why are we fascinated by real crimes? How can we distinguish entertainment from criminological analysis? In recent years, true crime has become one of the most consumed genres across platforms, podcasts, books, social media and documentaries. Through the study of basic tools and the analysis of real cases, we will learn to identify behavioural patterns, motivations, manipulation dynamics, forms of violence, treatment of victims and the media construction of crime. A course for understanding true crime beyond morbidity, sensationalism and fascination with real cases.
