'Decentralised Productive Ecosystems' Exhibition
20 October 2026 – 10 December 2026 · 10:00
Centre Cívic Ateneu Fort Pienc, el Fort Pienc, Eixample
The exhibition publicly presents a line of research, debate and knowledge transfer on decentralised productive ecosystems, the rebalancing of urban and rural life and the role of non-metropolitan territories in the future of architecture. It is the result of two years of collaboration between the UIC Barcelona School of Architecture and the Fundació RIA, founded by David Chipperfield, within a teaching and territorial research project that worked first in Galicia, in the O Barbanza region — Ribeira, A Pobra do Caramiñal and Boiro — and this year in Catalonia, in the Osona region — Roda de Ter, Manlleu and Sant Hipòlit de Voltregà. Opening: Monday 19 October at 7 pm, presentation and guided visit. Exhibition activities: Mondays 2, 16 and 30 November, 6.30 to 8.30 pm, debate sessions on collaboration between academia and professional practice, new ruralities, technologies and fieldwork methodologies in productive territories. Within the framework of Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026 and in collaboration with the Biblioteca El Fort Pienc – Ana María Moix.
Part of the programme: Barcelona World Capital of Architecture 2026. See the 43 activities in this programme in Barcelona, from September 5 to November 23.
