Centre Cívic Vil·la Urània, el Putxet i el Farró, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi

Open Google Maps with the satellite layer enabled. Go to Blanes and zoom out. Zoom out a little more. Did you know there is an enormous underwater canyon just offshore, the Canyó de Blanes? Look at the rest of the Mediterranean Sea. You will see that the seabed is far from flat. This is the deep sea, normally defined as everything below a depth of 200 metres. Here, life thrives in the absence of sunlight. Come and join us as we talk about and watch videos of deep-sea corals in the Mediterranean. Activity leader: Meri Bilan, postdoctoral researcher at the Departament de Biologia Evolutiva, Ecologia i CC. Ambientals de la UB.

Part of the programme: 'Ciència "In progress"' Series. Cicle 'Ciència ''In progress'': 3 activities in Barcelona, from October 19 to December 9. All free.
