The world of El Nido sounds like a frying pan and a tin of paprika, smells like a modern street party and tastes of jota and the village square. Their compositions draw on the sounds and rhythms of the traditional music of Castile and León, in a search for direction and identity in an increasingly fast-paced and turbulent present. Their latest LP, LA CONSTANCIA (2025), offers an utterly unique take on traditional music from a contemporary point of view and way of listening, while keeping its vital, moving and increasingly daring essence. Their approach to folklore, far more tangible and original, takes us into agudillos, jotas de ronda, ajechaos, charros and other traditional dance rhythms that continue to permeate their music, always dressed in the sounds of the household instruments that have always accompanied the oral tradition. The musical production of two masters such as Diego Galaz (Fetén Fetén, La M.O.D.A., Rozalén) and Hevi (Novedades Carminha, Caamaño & Ameixeiras), the latter on three of the tracks, together with collaborations from Rozalén, Rodrigo Cuevas and Neomak, make LA CONSTANCIA a work rooted in the very rich Iberian folklore that gives new meaning to the…
