'El piano, un llibre obert' Lecture
9 November 2026 · 18:00
CaixaForum Barcelona, la Font de la Guatlla, Sants-Montjuïc
During the Romantic period, the piano became an instrument capable of evoking landscapes, telling stories and expressing emotions with unprecedented intensity. Inspired by literature and poetry, composers such as Schumann, Chopin and Liszt turned each work into a symbolic universe full of suggestion and meaning. This session explores how piano music came to be a form of storytelling, in which imagination, evocation and words converse through the notes. Given by Irene de Juan Bernabeu, musicologist, pianist and music communicator.
Part of the programme: 'Poetes de la música' Series. See the 4 activities in this programme in Barcelona, from November 2 to 30.
