"Estima com vulguis" Exhibition
26 October 2026 – 29 November 2026 · 10:00
La Model. Espai Memorial, la Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample, Eixample
The history of the LGBTIQA+ liberation movement in the Catalan-speaking lands and in Spain cannot be told without the FAGC, the Front d'Alliberament Gai de Catalunya. The exhibition Estima com vulguis (Love However You Want) chronicles the organisation's fifty years. A story of struggle, love and resistance, radical, defiant and sensual, often lived from the margins and under the weight of repression and ostracism. It is the first visual genealogy of the FAGC, and it is the FAGC that speaks, telling its own story, too often silenced and made invisible, and often laden with stereotypes and mockery. A fragmented story that we piece together here. The scars are shown, yes, and so it speaks through the wound, from pain and protest, but also from rebellious gestures and a transgressive joy. Organised by: Front d'Alliberament Gai de Catalunya.
