Exhibition 'Antoni Tàpies. El moviment perpetu del mur'

13 February 2026 – 27 September 2026 · 10:00

Museu Tàpies, la Dreta de l'Eixample, Eixample

The monographic project Antoni Tàpies. El moviment perpetu del mur will explore the artist's work through its contexts and modes of exhibition. Continuing the research begun in the exhibition Antoni Tàpies. La imaginació del món, the new project enters the 1950s with the aim of offering new perspectives on a period of major transformations in the artist's practice. The exhibition takes as case studies four solo shows that Antoni Tàpies held during the decade, each presenting very different groups of works and different display solutions. The divergence between these approaches, together with the particular circumstances surrounding the development of each one, will make it possible to relate Tàpies's production, depending on the case, to broader debates around modern architecture, industry, graphic design and editorial composition, urban space and certain ways of life of the period. Curators: Imma Prieto, director of Museu Tàpies, and Pablo Allepuz, head of collection at Museu Tàpies.
