MEAM presents its collection titled Art Figuratiu Contemporani, a carefully selected group of paintings and sculptures from the museum's own holdings. The collection brings together works by internationally renowned artists representing the excellence and vitality of contemporary figurative art. Through this selection, MEAM reaffirms its commitment to preserving, promoting and disseminating figuration as one of the most relevant languages of art today. MEAM's own collection forms the essential core of its institutional identity, the result of sustained work in acquisition, research and support for artists distinguished by technical rigour, conceptual depth and the ability to engage in dialogue with tradition and contemporaneity. The collection offers visitors a broad and representative view of the different sensibilities, approaches and trends defining contemporary figurative art, consolidating MEAM as an international reference institution in this field. The public is invited to discover the Col·lecció del MEAM, a living testimony to the continuing relevance, diversity and expressive force of figuration in contemporary art.
