Exhibition "De Calor (1993-1996)"
14 November 2026 · 11:00
La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, el Raval, Ciutat Vella
Curator: Jorge Luis Marzo. The magazine De Calor was published in Barcelona between 1993 and 1996, at a time of intense cultural, social, political and technological transformation. Artists, intellectuals and activists collaborated on its three issues, capturing the zeitgeist of new collective models of production and reflection. Tere Badia, Mont Marsà, Jorge Marzo, Carles Poy, Jesús Renau and Toni Serra were part of the editorial team. The exhibition De Calor 1993-1996, curated by Jorge Marzo, brings together a large part of the published material and places it within a framework of references in order to offer a window onto practices and attitudes that provided alternatives to the celebratory model of Olympic and postmodern Barcelona. At the same time, a fourth special issue of the magazine will be published, devoted to ventriloquism as a current driver of political production —an issue subscribers paid for thirty years ago but never received.
