Exhibition "ELISAVA: El mar, sempre el mar"
4 June 2026 – 31 May 2027 · 11:00
Museu de Pintura Contemporània Can Framis, el Parc i la Llacuna del Poblenou, Sant Martí
El mar, sempre el mar seeks to reflect the pulse, characters and profound diversity of the Poblenou coastline, seen through the eyes of seventeen photographers from twelve different countries. Today, these beaches bring together locals and visitors of all ages as a kaleidoscopic reflection of the city's Mediterranean soul: a soul of leisure, sport, cultural exchange, connection and coexistence; and also of its challenges, such as tourist overcrowding and social imbalance. Some images arise from the curiosity and admiration of those arriving from elsewhere, while others are shaped by local sensitivity. During the weeks of fieldwork undertaken to understand life on the beach, we needed to belong there as both participants and observers. In doing so, we became witnesses to the passage of time, captivated by the ever-present sea, always the sea. El mar, sempre el mar is a physical and online installation conceived and produced for Museu Can Framis by students from the Màster en Fotografia i Disseny Elisava 2025-2026, in collaboration with Fundació Vila Casas. Artists / Curatorial team: Kritin N. Adhia, Daniel Alzate, Isabella Bahamondes, Cesc Bordas, Anna Maria French, Yazan Hamarneh,…
