Exhibition opening: 17 April at 19:00, with the participation of Mònica Pagès, curator of the exhibition; Albert Torrens, curator of Any Montserrat Torrent; and Jordi Alomar, director of Museu de la Música. The opening will include a short organ performance by Juan de la Rubia. Museu de la Música and Any Montserrat Torrent present Montserrat Torrent. A punt d'orgue, a temporary exhibition curated by journalist Mònica Pagès i Santacana commemorating the centenary of one of the most significant figures in the musical life of our country. Montserrat Torrent (Barcelona, 1926) has devoted her life to organ performance and dissemination. With an unquestionable international profile, she has been a key figure in promoting the Iberian repertoire, which she has introduced around the world alongside the great works of the Baroque and contemporary creation. Her career, with almost two thousand concerts and around fifty commercially released recordings, also represents a decisive contribution to the recognition of women in music, historically informed performance and the defence of organ heritage.
