The exhibition “Tantes històries. Tantes preguntes” brings together more than fifty works, including photographs, videos and installations, structured around urgent questions about technology, the economy and landscape. All the works form part of a broader project entitled Estètica de l'extinció: infraestructures del capitalisme contemporani, a long-term artistic investigation into the key infrastructures defining the 21st century. In this context, infrastructures are understood as technologies, systems and material conditions supporting the construction of meaning and the management of economic and social power. Beyond their operational function, they delimit and enable what is possible, setting the boundaries of our imagination. Through different languages, Max de Esteban offers a critical view of the systems organising contemporary life and of what, despite being essential, often remains hidden. In White Noise (2020), presented both audiovisually and as a photographic series, the artist approaches the invisible systems structuring contemporary life: data networks, automation, decision-making circuits and forms of power that operate silently in everyday life.
