Family Workshop: "The Spaces that Make a City. Mercat de Canyelles"

A family workshop exploring how the city is built through the facilities and spaces we share. On the market roof, the urban gardens inspire us to think about the relationship between nature, food and the city. Using a large map of Barcelona, families will explore how the city is organised and identify facilities that form part of everyday life: schools, markets, libraries, hospitals and parks. Afterwards, in the model-making area, they will be able to build a representation of an existing facility or imagine a new one. Finally, the proposals will be placed on the collective map to reflect on how facilities are distributed around the city and how we could improve balance and collective life in the neighbourhoods.
