The Festival de Jazz i Música Creativa de Ciutat Vella is a recreational, cultural and charitable event. It is considered a true Jazz Festival, as its programme is based on musical quality, creativity and transgression. At this festival you can enjoy the most innovative work by artists from the city and the rest of the world. Unlike the monotonous commercial jazz festivals that only book artists "on tour", who can be seen again and again across the continent, this festival lets you discover innovative talent outside the mass circuits whose sole aim is profit. Its social commitment to the place where it is held means the festival organises charity concerts at every edition. The festival has built up an intelligent, diverse, cosmopolitan and open audience with its own judgement which, far from trends or commercial concerts, chooses for itself the kind of concert it wants.
