Ateneu L'Harmonia, Sant Andreu, Sant Andreu
Screening venue: Ateneu L'Harmonia (Carrer de Sant Adrià, 20). Organised by: the Aula Ambiental de Sant Andreu and the Agrupació de Gent Gran de la Trinitat Vella in collaboration with the Centre Cívic Trinitat Vella. Cities are a stage for inequality: not everyone has a place in them (or the same place), nor the same rights. The film "Un lugar en la Ciudad" addresses this issue by inviting the audience to reflect on how urban life can be collectively redefined from the bottom up. It brings together inspiring stories of community strength and collective action in Rosario (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and Belo Horizonte (Brazil), with interviews and first-hand accounts. The film is part of an academic research project examining how social movements, grassroots coalitions and urban researchers are collectively redefining the "right to the city", showing that urban futures are not only imagined but actively built through cooperation, creativity and care. The screening of the documentary will be followed by a discussion with the director.
