Cities are settings of inequality: not everyone has the same place in them, nor the same rights. The film "Un lugar en la Ciudad" addresses this issue by inviting audiences to reflect on how urban life can be collectively redefined from below. It brings together inspiring stories of community strength and collective action in Rosario (Argentina), Santiago (Chile) and Belo Horizonte (Brazil), with interviews and first-person accounts. Directed by Gabriel Silvestre —PhD in Planning Studies and lecturer at Newcastle University, United Kingdom—, the film is part of academic research examining how social movements, grassroots coalitions and urban researchers are collectively redefining the "right to the city", showing that urban futures are not only imagined but actively built through cooperation, creativity and care. The documentary's director will be present to introduce the film and answer questions. The screening and subsequent activity will be accompanied by Alicia Jeannin as part of the «Àgora Efímera» project. L'Àgora will invite all participants to join the debate.
