A one-off concert with two key figures of modern jazz: American saxophonist Eric Alexander, one of the most powerful and recognised voices on contemporary tenor sax, and Norwegian guitarist Frode Kjekstad, a master of the hard bop and soul jazz language. Backed by a first-class rhythm section – Roy Powell on Hammond organ and Frederik Villmow on drums – this quartet unfolds an intensity, elegance and connection that only decades of musical understanding can produce.
