Guided Visit and Concert 'Mar Sefarad. Love Songs from the Two Shores of the Mediterranean'

17 September 2026 · 18:00

Placeta de Manuel Ribé, el Barri Gòtic, Ciutat Vella

The activity begins with a guided visit to the Espai El Call at the Museu d'Història de Barcelona, followed by a short walk to Casa Adret. The route connects the history of the medieval Jewish community with the vitality of contemporary Jewish culture in the city. Casa Adret will host the concert Mar Sefarad, by Ofer Ronen and Layla Akbal. The duo offers a musical journey between the two shores of the Mediterranean through Sephardic songs, piyyutim and melodies from the Hispanic tradition. With Layla Akbal's voice and percussion and Ofer Ronen's guitar and oud, the concert creates a dialogue between cultures that have shared languages, landscapes and emotions across the centuries. An intimate programme exploring memory, love and spirituality through a repertoire linking East and West, tradition and the present day, evoking a musical heritage that remains alive and constantly changing.
