Teacher: Jordi Pisa. Great empires have succeeded one another throughout the history of Europe and the Mediterranean. These empires dominated territories in Europe, Asia and Africa and shaped European culture and the present-day organisation of many state borders. This term we will analyse the empires of the medieval period: the Carolingian and Byzantine Empires.
