Reinforcements have been diverted to fight forest fires and all communications have been cut off. The head of the Hope police post, Bum-seok, and officer Sung-ae struggle to defend a village of elderly people, while in the mountains Sung-ki and the locals who have set out to hunt the beast find themselves hunted by it instead. What begins as ignorance sows the seed of disaster, which escalates through human conflict into a tragedy of cosmic proportions.
