'I Know the Suffering I Do Not Know' Exhibition
9 September 2026 – 10 October 2026 · 10:00
Centre Cívic Ateneu Fort Pienc, el Fort Pienc, Eixample
This project is born of a deep need to approach the world's wounds through artistic practice. The title poses a paradox: the possibility of recognising a pain that is not ours but that speaks to us directly as human beings. The answer to that distance lies in the act of drawing, which works as a bridge between viewer and victim, between the immediacy of the news and the permanence of memory. Drawing the suffering of others is understood here not as documentation but as an act of presence, of taking on the other's shadow. The working method embodies that wish for connection and, conceptually, the paradox of the title. The works are made in darkness: the artist draws without directly seeing what she is tracing on the paper, guided only by the lines and lights of a projected digital image. The artist: Glòria Giménez Carrillo (Granollers, 1969) is a visual artist with a degree in Fine Arts.
