Inti-Illimani are a renowned Chilean folk group founded in 1967. Their style combines Andean music with traditional Latin American rhythms. They were part of the Nueva Canción Chilena movement. For several years they lived in exile because of the dictatorship in Chile. Their songs carry messages of identity, justice and social commitment. Today they are regarded as one of the most important groups in Latin American music
