'Introduction to Natural History Illustration' Workshop

Illustration remains one of the main ways of disseminating scientific knowledge and recording natural history. In this workshop you will practise traditional scientific-illustration techniques (such as graphite, ink hatching, scratchboard, watercolour and coloured pencil) and learn to draw animals and plants from scratch at your own pace. Materials for the first day: sketchbook, pencils of different hardnesses (HB, 2B and 4B), sharpener, eraser and blending stump, plus a pine cone, shell or natural object. Led by Isa Loureiro.
