'Invisible Animals: Myth, Life, Extinction and De-extinction' Exhibition

Invisible is what we do not see, because it lies beyond our visual capacity, because it is so scarce that it is difficult to find, or because it hides from humans. The past and legends also form part of an invisible world that is highly important to our life on Earth. We have imagined invisible people and cities and written about them. Now it is time to do the same with other animals. At this moment of enormous planetary stress, biodiversity is key to ensuring global health. As for animals, there are many species we know little about despite their importance in maintaining ecosystem balance. Making the lives of these animals and the stories surrounding them visible helps us recognise them as a substantial and indispensable part of our world. Invisible animals are mythical, extinct or, above all, living, and connect us with realities that often seem like fantasy. All the more reason, then, to care for and protect them.
