Kiko Veneno is a bold classic, an essential figure who for half a century has been redefining the boundaries of Spanish-language music with freshness, wit and incorruptible genius. From founding milestones such as the revolutionary album Veneno, his key contribution to Camarón de la Isla's La leyenda del tiempo or the iconic Échate un cantecito, the songwriter has portrayed street-level life and the brilliance of the things that truly matter like no one else. His ability to bring flamenco into dialogue with pop, electronica, psychedelic rock, tropicalismo or African rhythms has made him a cross-generational master from whom artists across the spectrum have learned, from Martirio and Jorge Drexler to C. Tangana, Vera Fauna or Derby Motoreta's Burrito Kachimba. Without settling into nostalgia, Veneno remains a restless, ever-changing and inspired artist.
