'Kiw & Mourad Belouadi' Concert

23 September 2026 · 22:30

Moll de la Fusta, el Barri Gòtic, Ciutat Vella

Show title: Kiw & Mourad Belouadi. E-jazz & gnaoua - Barcelona. Catalan experimental jazz and Moroccan musical roots, especially the gnaoua tradition, meet in a contemporary creative proposal. The project was born from the meeting between Kiw, an emerging band on the Catalan scene with a strong commitment to sonic hybridisation, and Mourad Belouadi, a Moroccan musician who reinterprets popular music through a contemporary and experimental lens. Using improvisation, electronics and roots music, Kiw & Mourad Belouadi create a space for dialogue between North and South, removed from folklorist approaches. The project, premiering in Barcelona, has been promoted by Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, Fabra i Coats, Fondation HIBA and Institut Ramon Llull, and has established itself as one of the new Euro-Mediterranean proposals with the greatest potential in contemporary jazz and hybrid music.

Part of the programme: Mercè 2026. 103 activities in Barcelona, from September 23 to September 27. All free.
