For obvious reasons, double bassist Kyle Eastwood's career has been closely linked to cinema, combining the composition of film scores for movies by his father, Clint Eastwood (including Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby and Letters From Iwo Jima), with his own career as a jazz musician, particularly as leader of his quintet. Eastwood by Eastwood is the show that sums up these two sides of Kyle Eastwood's artistic life: a fusion of jazz interpretations of iconic film scores associated with his father —by composers such as Ennio Morricone, Lennie Niehaus, Lalo Schifrin and John Williams— and original music created by Kyle to perform with his quintet.
